Getting Things Done: Due May 20th

I organized this process by using a piece of paper. I like hand written lists that I carry with me AT ALL times in my planner. I do not have a smart phone so I like to be able to access to my “to do” list whenever I have a free second. I am a list QUEEN. Usually, I just write everything that comes to my mind, but I do not organize or prioritize it. I have lists for everything, grad work, chores, bucket lists, etc.

Going through this process the first time, was helpful, but I felt like I spent extra time on going through all of the steps, when I could have been getting things done. I do realize though, that going through the first time will be the most consuming and if I chose to continue with this process it will become more second nature.

After only using this process a few times, I am undecided if this will process will help me or not. I am leaning towards going back to my old system which takes less time to write “to do” items down but I like how this process organizes and decides when and how it should be done.

For right now, I am going to continue this process until I feel like it becomes second nature. I hope that by training my brain to operate this way, I will eventually become more effective in getting all of my “to do” thoughts out of my head, organized and a direct plan of action to get them done. A lot of people have written great things about it and I am interested to see how I feel about this process in a few months.

  1. It's good to see that you are willing to try something new. I like that you plan to train your brain for this new way of doing things. If it doesn't work, there are always the paper lists.
